EXPERIENCE
Brought into the family business in 1973 and tutored by his father, Ed Ault, Brian has significant experience in all phases of golf course architecture including site evaluation; cost estimating; design of new facilities, and the remodeling of existing courses; and general, related consultant services. Brian became co-president of the firm in 1989.
He has been the Project Architect for hundreds of projects, all across the Country - including development of new golf courses, improvement/remodeling of existing golf courses, and preparation of feasibility studies. As such, Brian was directly in charge of preparing the various plans and specifications, overseeing the solicitation of bids, and then making frequent on-site inspection visits during the construction to help ensure the work was being properly implemented, was on time, and on budget.
Clients for whom Brian has completed work include the PGA TOUR, private, resort and homesite developers, country clubs, and various municipalities and government entities. Projects have taken Brian throughout the United States and abroad to such countries as Korea, China, Ireland, and Canada.
Brian has been called upon as an expert witness on numerous occasions, providing testimony for golf course developers, as well as state highway departments and municipalities. His testimony has been in conjunction with such golf course related issues as personal injury lawsuits, condemnation proceedings, and zoning and permitting hearings.
He has been frequently invited to give talks and presentations at various university and professional seminars, and has had numerous articles printed in golf magazines and other relate publications.
Many of Brian's projects have received awards and recognition through Golf Digest Magazine's ranking lists including Wyncote Golf Club (Oxford, PA), which was voted 'Third Best New Public Golf Course in America' for 1993.
